The ecu is referencing the crankshaft position from the camshaft sensor. There is a belt between the the two and because of that the cas cannot provide an accurate location of the crank shaft due to the belt tension varying over the rpm band and therefore varying the location of the crankshaft to the camshaft, even if it's just a couple degrees as you can see it makes a difference. Sound Performance figured this out on Elliot's single turbo Z that just made 780 on a stock na block utilizing the Proefi system and a 12 tooth crank trigger wheel. I'm currently developing a trigger wheel kit utilizing a vr sensor since we are currently doing 3 high Hp Z build all on Proefi's and don't wanna run into the issue.
